My Mentorship Experience
in TESOL & Applied Linguistics
Coaching the next generation of language teachers
Senior Teaching Mentor
2012-Present
Mentoring language teachers in the state-of-art teaching practices, including the integration of technology, in the TCP is one of my favorite roles!

In this position, I guide and coach a team of TESOL Certificate Program co-teachers in their ESL practicum requirement by providing them ongoing, purposeful feedback through weekly lesson planning sessions, teaching observations, and individual post-observation conferences.
Lesson planning & classroom practices
The basics
I set guidelines and tone to regulate overall team dynamics and ensure appropriate communication and maintenance of expected standards of performance and professionalism. In addition, I communicate with the Program director regarding mentee performance, including coursework final grades, taking on special assignments by the director to work with students that require extra supervision to ensure the student receives professional guidance and successfully completes the program requirements
The use of technology
in language classrooms
Preparing teachers in using technology meaningfully and effectively in the classroom is the most important goal for me. It is amazing when teachers who are apprehensive and anxious in integrating tech in their teaching end up using tech as a pro!
